“I know what women want. They want to be beautiful.” Valentino Garavani
I just, yes literally just now, have decided to become a handbag designer. To be honest, it doesn´t seem like much skill or creativity are needed for this career. Any small eleven year old Martha Stewart can do it, that means, I am almost qualified!!! Yeah me!!!
Spring is strange, one minute it´s like Summer, the next, early Winter, this can be very confusing on your body and most importantly, your wardrobe. Problem solved though, don’t just shove your cutout dresses to the back of your closet the moment the temps suddenly dropo and get a bit too cold to wear them. Slip a slim-fit shirt underneath — et voilà — it’s now a dress for all seasons.
It´s almost Spring but it still feels like Winter at nights, so though we fully intend to throw away the hideous big coats, we still need warm fingers and elbows. My best friend (in my head) Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) knows how to stay warm from head to toe.
When I saw this style in the Rag & Bone show during New York Fashion Week, I literally heard my childhood calling. And, suprisingly it made perfect sense. When every little layer helps, wear a pair of bike shorts on top of sheer brown tights (and under a skirt, too, obviously) for an ’80s peekaboo effect.
I admit it, I feel like I am a rad mix and bad girl meet breakfast at Tiffany´s type of girl. For want of a better word, fashion promiscuous. What better way to satisfy both sides of me than to half tuck! If you’re wearing a collared shirt, leave one crisp end of it untucked to peek out between your sweater and skirt. Instant cool factor, promised!
I was really thin growing up, like almost unhealthy thin. I was a picky eater, and almost every new piece of clothing had to be drastically altered to fit my small frame. After moving to Germany that quickly changed… unfortunately. However, due to excercise and healthy eating, I have started to lose weight…. and just in time for Spring. So this trend comes at the perfect moment for me. For outfits, even evening gowns that are a touch too big, try cinching it with a body harness like the ones Zana Bayne made for Prabal Gurung from New York Fashion Week.
I didn´t know who Julien Macdonald was until I watched Australia´s Next Top Model…hides face*. I know, it´s terrible, I am insulted by my own ignorance!!! His designs are legendary, and not just down under! Just one look at his designs and you will see why I am shocked that more person´s don´t know about this cheeky ATM Judge and amazing designer!
The show was set to the lyrics Rebel Rebel Party Party, models walked out in grunge styled smudged makeup and stayed-up-all-night hair took to the catwalk in Julien Macdonald’s sparkling collection for Fall 2013. A mix of fringing, rhinestones, sequins, chains, intricate glittering embellishment, and more are seen in this Las Vegas inspired collection.
