This just a quick hello,
This just a quick hello,
Hope you are having a great weekend so far. Mine has been relatively quiet and extremely rainy! But, leave it to me to focus on the positive aspect of things (if I write it enough, I will convince myself). When the weather says rain, just look on the bright side or, in my case, old unpublished photos, from my dream city Brussels. So, yes you have seen me in this white cotton dress before, in the (what I was told later semi-raunchy) underground parking shoot. This is NOT a shoot, this is just what happens AFTER shoots, normal life :). The focus of most of the pictures is my burnt orange leather bag, funny story there, actually.
This shoot was done on location in the beautiful Rheingau area. I had previously, entitled the post Sunday Blues. However, judging from the weather, that we have had here for the past week, Lana Del Rey´s song “Summertime Sadness” seems more suitable. I think that that´s a wrap folks, on the Jamaican-like weather for now…. it´s been real.
Hope you guys enjoy the shoot I had on this very flowy Forever21 dress, on the morning before going on a hike with friends, needless to say I was forced to change in some random bathroom, but that´s another article!
Thanks for reading and enjoy the rest of your weekend! Xx
I do not consider myself an architecture buff (just someone who appreciates great architecture), but when I saw the Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert, I was certain that it was one of the most beautiful 19th century shopping arcades in the world.
Although I am sure you´ve seen the very similar looking Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan in movies, the Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert in Brussels, has it´s own impressive charm to it.
Found this antique well in a very old monastry´s garden. This well dates back to the 16th century! I love vintage clothing, but this functioning well and church makes my love and reverance of all things dating back for over 40 years, seem like a joke. The peace that was found in that garden can not be put into words.
I am so sorry in advance for my lack of posts from now until Tuesday, I will miss you dears so much and I will be back before you know it. I am visiting one of the loveliest and warmest places in Germany, a place where the weather is almost always nice, abbeys are converted into hotels and Castles, yes Castles jutting over the Rhein (a very long river) are a common sight. Gents and Dolls, I am minutes away from the lovely Rheingau.
Tomorrow I will do an Inspired Post on the other big thing Rheingau is famous for, or should I wait until I am back?
I never thought I’d end up saying this, and I know I will enrage everyone who so blindly follow the hype of the clichéd Big Apple (rightly named concrete jungle), but seriously Brussels is the real capital of cool. Sorry Jay-Z, Ms. Keys I hear you, but the only place I will be dreaming about is Brussels – you can keep your concrete jungle dreams (no offense). I know I am being hard on New York, I bare it no ill, it´s just that I have been to and even lived in Manhattan, and I was and am not impressed. Sometimes concrete jungles aren´t pretty or cool, just cold.
No, not blue, I really love this city, I could never really be blue here. However dolls, this was the hottest weekend in this part of Europe since recorded history! Folks when I say hot, I mean more than Jamaican hot, and you all know that means HOT. I will obviously be doing another post about Brussels. This was, I think, day one out of three, I call this, the touristy look, because, I was wearing very a very typical but more importantly comfy outfit, well in a touristy sort of way. But a girl had to do what she must, and I chose to be careful over cute to combat that crazy heat.
